The awarded works included the supply of complete Joinery packages throughout the entire ten storey complex—including student apartments, common lounge areas, study and gymnasium spaces.

Working for the first time with a Harris HMC and architect, Hayball—the project teams at GETC strived to achieve a flawless result with the specified finishes and exacting Joinery specifications.

Ranging from apartment kitchens and bathroom vanity units, through to high-end common area kitchens and completely upholstered lounge banquette seating, the delivered items throughout the project were of the remarkable standard of quality to which GETC is renown.

With the development spearheaded by the University of Melbourne, the complex provides accommodation for 285 students within walking distance of the Universities’ Parkville campus.

The site made use of the existing Salvation Army Training facility, comprising an extensive redevelopment to the dated interior of the building and an entirely new six-storey addition to the rear of the site.

The interiors include two spacious common areas, dedicated study spaces, a music rehearsal studio, gymnasium, a variety of single & twin studio apartments and four & five bed cluster apartments.

GETC’s dedicated project & site management teams worked tirelessly for the duration of the project to ensure our deliveries coincided seamlessly with the builder’s schedules—carefully managing the quality control, placement and installation processes.

Once the project was well underway, and our praoject teams were advised the site was ready to take delivery, over 15 containers were transported directly & unloaded in a period of just under two weeks.

Our site crews worked industriously to advance the placement & installation processes without compromising the quality of the finished product.
