At GETC Group, sustainability is not just a priority — it is woven into the fabric of everything we do. As a leader in the building supply manufacturing industry, we recognise the profound impact our operations have on the environment, communities, and future generations. This understanding drives our unwavering commitment to being a catalyst for positive change, both locally and globally.
Within this policy, we clearly define our comprehensive approach to corporate responsibility. By integrating sustainable practices into every facet of our operations, we strive to minimise our environmental footprint, enhance social well-being, and uphold the highest standards
of ethical governance. We are dedicated to aligning our growth with the global movement towards sustainable development, ensuring that our success contributes to a better, greener, and more equitable world.
This document serves as a roadmap for our sustainability journey. It outlines our commitments to environmental stewardship, social equity, and ethical business practices, providing a clear framework for achieving our goals while inspiring collaboration with our stakeholders to create a more sustainable future for all.
Forced, bonded (including debt bondage) or indentured labour, involuntary or exploitative prison labour, slavery or trafficking of persons shall not be used. This includes transporting, harbouring, recruiting, transferring or receiving persons by means of threat, force, coercion, abduction or fraud for labour or services.
There shall be no unreasonable restrictions on workers’ freedom of movement in the facility in addition to unreasonable restrictions on entering or exiting company-provided facilities.
As part of our hiring process, workers must be provided, where required, with a written employment agreement in their native language that contains a description of terms and conditions of employment prior to the worker departing from his or her country of origin. There shall be no substitution or changes allowed in the employment agreement upon arrival in the receiving country unless these changes are made to meet local law and provide equal or better terms.
All work must be voluntary, and workers shall be free to leave work at any time or terminate their employment. Employers and agents may not hold or otherwise destroy, conceal, confiscate or deny access by employees to their identity or immigration documents, such as government-issued identification, passports or work permits, unless such holdings are required by law.
Workers shall not be required to pay employers’ or agents’ recruitment fees or other related fees for their employment. If any such fees are found to have been paid by workers, such fees shall be repaid to the worker.
Studies of business practices clearly link worker strain to reduced productivity, increased turnover and increased injury and illness. Working hours are not to exceed the maximum set by local law.
GETC will never use child labour. The term “child” refers to any person under the age of 15, or under the age for completing compulsory education, or under the minimum age for employment in the country, whichever is greatest.
The use of legitimate workplace learning programmes, which comply with all laws and regulations, is supported. Workers under the age of 18 (Young Workers) shall not perform work that is likely to jeopardise their health or safety, including night shifts and overtime. GETC Group shall ensure proper management of student workers through proper maintenance of student records, rigorous due diligence of educational partners, and protection of students’ rights in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
GETC Group shall provide appropriate support and training to all student workers. In the absence of local law, the wage rate for student workers, interns and apprentices shall be at least the same wage rate as other entry-level workers performing equal or similar tasks.
Compensation paid to workers shall comply with all applicable wage laws, including those relating to minimum wages, overtime hours & legally mandated benefits. In compliance with local laws, workers shall be compensated for overtime at pay rates greater than regular hourly rates.
Deductions from wages as a disciplinary measure shall not be permitted. For each pay period, workers shall be provided with a timely and understandable wage statement that includes sufficient information to verify accurate compensation for work performed. All use of temporary, dispatch and outsourced labour will be within the limits of the local law.
GETC Group should be committed to a workforce free of harassment and unlawful discrimination. We will not engage in discrimination based on race, colour, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, ethnicity or national origin, disability, pregnancy, religion, political affiliation, union membership, covered veteran status, protected genetic information or marital status in hiring and employment practices such as wages, promotions, rewards, and access to training.
Workers shall be provided with reasonable accommodation for religious practices. In addition, workers or potential workers should not be subjected to medical tests or physical exams that could be used in a discriminatory way.
There is to be no harsh and inhumane treatment including any sexual harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion or verbal abuse of workers; nor is there to be the threat of any such treatment. Disciplinary policies and procedures in support of these requirements shall be clearly defined and communicated to workers.
In conformance with local law, GETC Group shall respect the right of all workers to form and join trade unions of their own choosing, to bargain collectively and to engage in peaceful assembly as well as respect the right of workers to refrain from such activities.
Additionally, workers and/or their representatives shall be able to openly communicate and share ideas and concerns with management regarding working conditions and management practices, both without fear of discrimination, reprisal, intimidation or harassment.
Worker exposure to potential safety hazards (e.g., electrical and other energy sources, fire, vehicles, and fall hazards) is to be controlled through proper design, engineering and administrative controls, preventative maintenance and safe work procedures (including lockout/tagout), and ongoing safety training.
Where hazards cannot be adequately controlled by these means, workers are to be provided with appropriate, well-maintained personal protective equipment and educational materials about risks to them associated with these hazards.
Reasonable steps must also be taken to remove pregnant women/nursing mothers from working conditions with high hazards, remove or reduce any workplace health and safety risks to pregnant women and nursing mothers including those associated with their work assignments, as well as include reasonable accommodations for nursing mothers.
Potential emergency situations and events are to be identified and assessed, and their impact minimised by implementing emergency plans and response procedures including: emergency reporting, employee notification and evacuation procedures, worker training and drills, appropriate fire detection and suppression equipment, clear and unobstructed egress, adequate exit facilities, and recovery plans. Such plans and procedures shall focus on minimising harm to life, the environment and property.
Procedures and systems are to be in place to prevent, manage, track and report occupational injury and illness, including provisions to: encourage worker reporting; classify and record injury and illness cases; provide necessary medical treatment; investigate cases and implement corrective actions to eliminate their causes; and facilitate the return of workers to work.
Worker exposure to chemical, biological and physical agents is to be identified, evaluated, and controlled according to the hierarchy of controls. Potential hazards are to be eliminated or controlled through proper design, engineering and administrative controls.
When hazards cannot be adequately controlled by such means, workers are to be provided with and use appropriate, well-maintained personal protective equipment. Protective programmes shall include educational materials about the risks associated with these hazards.
Worker exposure to the hazards of physically demanding tasks, including manual material handling and heavy or repetitive lifting, prolonged standing, and highly repetitive or forceful assembly tasks, is to be identified, evaluated, and controlled.
Production and other machinery shall be evaluated for safety hazards. Physical guards, interlocks and barriers are to be provided and properly maintained where machinery presents an injury hazard to workers.
Workers are to be provided with ready access to clean toilet facilities, potable water, and sanitary food preparation, storage, and eating facilities.
Worker dormitories provided by GETC Group or a labour agent are to be maintained to be clean and safe, and provided with appropriate emergency egress, hot water for bathing and showering, adequate lighting, heat and ventilation, individually secured accommodations for storing personal and valuable items, and reasonable personal space along with reasonable entry and exit privileges.
GETC Group shall provide workers with appropriate workplace health and safety information and training in their primary language for all identified workplace hazards that workers are exposed to, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, chemical, fire, and physical hazards.
Health and safety-related information shall be clearly posted in the facility or placed in a location identifiable and accessible by workers. Training is provided to all workers prior to the beginning of work and regularly thereafter. Workers shall be encouraged to raise safety concerns.
The highest standards of integrity are to be upheld in all business interactions. GETC Group shall have a zero-tolerance policy to prohibit any and all forms of bribery, corruption, extortion, and embezzlement.
Bribes or other means of obtaining undue or improper advantage are not to be promised, offered, authorised, given, or accepted. This prohibition covers promising, offering, authorising, giving, or accepting anything of value, either directly or indirectly through a third party, in order to obtain or retain business, direct business to any person, or otherwise gain an improper advantage. Monitoring and enforcement procedures shall be implemented to ensure compliance with anti-corruption laws.
Intellectual property rights are to be respected. Transfer of technology and know-how is to be conducted in a manner that protects intellectual property rights, and customer information is to be safeguarded.
All business dealings should be transparently performed and accurately reflected in our business books and records. Information regarding our labour, health and safety, environmental practices, business activities, structure, financial situation, and performance is to be disclosed in accordance with applicable regulations and prevailing industry practices. Falsification of records or misrepresentation of conditions or practices in the supply chain is unacceptable.

Programmes that ensure the confidentiality, anonymity, and protection of supplier and employee whistleblowers are to be maintained, unless prohibited by law. GETC Group should have a communicated process for its personnel to raise any concerns without fear of retaliation.
GETC Group shall exercise due diligence on the source and chain of custody of these materials and make its due diligence measures available to customers upon request.
We’re committed to protecting the reasonable privacy expectations of personal information of everyone it does business with, including suppliers, customers, consumers, and employees.
GETC Group is to comply with privacy and information security laws and regulatory requirements when personal information is collected, stored, processed, transmitted, and shared.
We believe that diversity is not just a moral imperative but a competitive advantage that strengthens our workforce, fuels innovation & drives long-term success.
Central to this mission is our focus on creating pathways and opportunities for women to thrive in careers within our organisation and the broader industry. Through targeted recruitment strategies, mentoring programmes, and professional development initiatives, we aim to empower women to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
By breaking down stereotypes, we are building an inclusive workplace culture where every employee feels valued, supported, and inspired to contribute.
Our commitment goes beyond internal policies; it is reflected in how we engage with communities, suppliers, and partners to promote diversity and inclusion at every level. By championing the unique talents and perspectives of women, we not only strengthen our organisation but also ensure that our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve.
At GETC, this dedication is more than a reflection of our values — it is a strategic imperative. By leading the way in employment equity, we are setting a benchmark for excellence, innovation, and inclusivity in the construction and manufacturing industries. We’re proud to be shaping a future where diversity is celebrated, opportunities are equitable and success is shared by all.
Recognising the invaluable contributions and unique perspectives of Indigenous people, we are deeply committed to creating pathways for sustainable economic participation and growth through direct partnerships with Aboriginal-owned and operated businesses such as Yarra Contracting, among others.
These partnerships form the foundation of our approach, allowing us to actively support community-led enterprises while promoting the rich cultural heritage of Aboriginal communities. By integrating these businesses into our supply chain, we not only enhance our ability to deliver complex projects successfully but also create tangible benefits that contribute to the long-term prosperity, independence, and self-determination of Aboriginal peoples.
Our commitment extends beyond transactions. We work collaboratively to build relationships grounded in respect, trust, and mutual benefit, ensuring our projects leave a positive and enduring legacy for the communities we engage with. Through these efforts, we also provide pathways for employment, training, and professional development for Aboriginal individuals, opening doors to meaningful careers across the industries we serve.
At GETC, we see this commitment as both a responsibility and a privilege — a chance to create a lasting, positive impact by fostering stronger partnerships and building inclusive opportunities that shape a brighter future for all.
At GETC, every room we complete—whether for commercial, residential, or student accommodation projects—reflects our dedication to sustainability. Each finished space becomes a catalyst for environmental change through our tree-planting initiative. By transforming interiors, we also contribute to improving the world outside them.
For every completed room, we collaborate with ReForest Now, an Australian non-profit focused on reforestation, to plant a native tree in a carefully chosen location. This effort revives rainforests and supports ecosystems, with each tree symbolising our mission to create a greener future across Australia and beyond.
The trees we plant help restore natural habitats, providing shelter and resources for native wildlife while enhancing biodiversity. Over time, these efforts reconnect fragmented ecosystems, fostering resilience and creating vibrant environments that support local species.
Our commitment doesn’t end with planting trees; we track their growth and impact, sharing updates with our clients and partners. By choosing GETC, clients not only receive high-quality craftsmanship but also join a movement to preserve and restore the environment’s natural beauty. Together, we’re building a sustainable future, one room and one tree at a time.
GETC’s mattress recycling initiative focuses on maximising resource recovery, reducing landfill waste, and supporting a circular economy. Steel from mattress springs and frames is collected and supplied to manufacturers for reuse, reducing demand for virgin steel. Foam layers are repurposed into floor underlay through local partners, while timber from mattress bases is recycled into mulch, engineered products, or processed fuel. Where possible, base frames are reused to create new bed bases. Textile waste is redirected from landfill to innovative processes, including conversion into fuel or renewable energy, depending on the region.
Material stream weights are tracked through certified weighbridges and recorded in GETC’s proprietary “Feathertop” system, enabling tailored diversion reports for customers. This ensures transparency and accountability while supporting sustainability goals.
By breaking down mattresses into steel, foam and latex, timber, and textiles, GETC maximises resource recovery. These materials are reused in applications such as new steel products, carpet underlay, bioenergy, and industrial textiles, highlighting GETC’s commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.
Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and GETC Group is committed to evolving & adapting. Through rigorous self-assessment, stakeholder collaboration, and a willingness to embrace change, we aim to set new benchmarks for corporate responsibility in the building supply industry.
We invite you to join us in this journey toward a sustainable future. By choosing GETC for your construction and supply needs, you’re not only receiving quality craftsmanship but also supporting a healthier planet. Together, we can create a future where construction and sustainability work hand in hand.
