GETC partnered with this retailer to supply and fit–out several new and existing store developments for locations across Australia & New Zealand. Our team was engaged early in the planning phases to design and deliver all of the required retail fixtures for the store expansions.

Being a large-scale warehouse format distributor, facilities hold a comprehensive range of hardware items and offers a remarkable capacity of timber and plasterboard products for sale direct to the public.

The stores utilise the same Big Box System as installed at many other locations, giving store development teams the advantage of simplifying the specification process for new store developments. Although highly detailed floor-planning and system layouts are continually undertaken, generally the primary racking structures are reflected across all stores.

Utilising the extra depth of a 1200mm deep Big Box frame—providing an additional 600mm depth for merchandising in each central bay. This advantage along with the vast range of merchandising accessories allows high-volume stores such as this benefit from concentrated product density and supplementary overhead bulk-storage.

The team opted to utilise in-bay lighting methods as found in many of their other stores. The low energy lighting sources installed on every Big Box bay are crucial for highlighting the products within the sizeable warehouse spaces, maximising the marketability of our display systems. Custom backlit signage pelmets attached above the systems also aid the customer experience—ensuring the vast warehouses are navigated with ease, and products departments can be sighted from a reasonable distance.

The stores often include large Trade & Drive Through areas occupying a portion of the site, providing a large hand-stand area adjacent to the primary storage and distribution buildings and dedicated 'Trade Retail' areas.

As with most retail projects, the installations are on an extremely tight schedule with stock being loaded onto shelves while teams were fitting the interior. As a result, these fantastic new stores are fully installed from scratch in an average of only 25 days.
